Aquaculture Specialist
Ruth Lewo is in charge of Component 2 – Aquaculture Value Chain Development. This component seeks to improve the efficiency of the whole Aquaculture value chain, with a concentration of programme efforts and resources on operations that either include smallholders directly or demonstratably benefit the mass of small-scale producers.
It will also seek to create awareness and strengthen linkages and networks among the value chain actors and at the same time seek to create an enabling environment by strengthening the necessary extension support services at County Level.
Ms. Ruth Lewo is well versed in Fisheries and Aquaculture. She graduated from Egerton University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Aquatic Ecology and also has a master in Science in Tropical Aquatic Ecology from Bremen University, Germany. She has worked in various capacities in the Development, Management and Conservation of Fisheries Resources under the State Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture and the Blue Economy, Kenya.
